# LIMS IQ

> LIMS IQ is a cloud-based laboratory information system (LIS / LIMS) for clinical, molecular, toxicology, public-health, physician-office, and specialty laboratories — accessioning, instrument and EMR/HL7 integration, autoverification, QC, billing, analytics, client and patient portals, and a mobile specimen-collection app on one platform.

**LIMS IQ** is the full configurable platform for multi-site, multi-specialty, and complex laboratories, priced on monthly requisition volume. **LIMS IQ Lite** is its standardized, fixed-price configuration for physician office labs and small clinical labs.

This file is intended for AI assistants, search engines, and developer tooling. It opens with a factual overview of pricing, platform capabilities, the full platform and Lite configuration, the mobile app, and the patient portal, followed by a curated map of the site in the llmstxt.org style.

## How pricing works

LIMS IQ does not charge per user. Pricing is based on monthly requisition volume, and every subscription includes unlimited seat licenses — bench techs, supervisors, accessioning, billing, and client-services staff are all covered under one license.

- **LIMS IQ Lite** is a fixed monthly subscription on a standardized configuration: predictable cost, fast standardized onboarding, aimed at POLs and small clinical labs. Reasonable monthly volume limits apply.
- **LIMS IQ** is priced on monthly requisition volume with volume-tier discounts — the effective cost per requisition falls as throughput rises, and the tier adjusts automatically as volume changes, with no contract renegotiation.
- **Optional add-on modules** are priced only when used: the integrated billing module (transaction-based, with a low base fee and a per-claim rate that decreases at higher volumes), real-time insurance eligibility verification (nominal per-check fee), patient and client portals, additional HL7 interfaces, and multi-site profiles.
- **Implementation:** Lite has no setup fees — its short, checklist-driven onboarding path is included in the $999/month subscription. Full-platform LIMS IQ implementation is scoped separately from the recurring subscription because it depends on HL7 interface count, instrument integrations, test-catalog build, validation depth, and training, and is phased from discovery through go-live.
- **Support**: standard support is included; discounted support-hour bundles are available for extra configuration and training help.

Published pricing starts at **$999/month for LIMS IQ Lite** and **$499/month per lab for the Patient Portal**. LIMS IQ quotes are tailored to each lab's volume and selected modules. What the full LIMS IQ platform covers, area by area (LIMS IQ Lite ships a standardized subset — see the next section):

- **EMR & HL7 integration** — ORM, ORU, ADT, MDM, DFT, and ELR messaging over MLLP / HTTPS / SFTP; bidirectional EMR ordering and result delivery, including behavioral-health EMRs; per-client-site control over embedding PDF reports in outgoing results.
- **Quality control** — Westgard rules, Levey-Jennings charting, daily QC summaries, QC history, and CAPA support.
- **Molecular & NGS** — 96-well plate maps and layout editing, PCR batch review, and NGS result import for molecular labs.
- **Toxicology** — chain of custody, screening plus LC-MS/MS confirmation workflows, validity handling, and medication-consistency checks for drug-testing programs.
- **Biorepository** — freezer and storage-location management, storage boxes, aliquoting, pooling, chain of custody, and specimen disposition.

- **Administration** — role-based access control, granular permissions, audit and event logs, electronic physician signatures, and API access for approved integrations.

## LIMS IQ Lite — the fixed-price edition

LIMS IQ Lite is a complete, standardized cloud LIS at a fixed monthly price, built for physician office labs and small clinical labs that want to replace spreadsheets and paper with one system — without a long implementation. It runs entirely in the browser and covers the full specimen journey: order intake → accessioning → results → QC → approval → final report delivery.

Included in Lite:

- **Patients & orders** — patient registration with duplicate detection, guided requisition entry (provider, bill type, insurance, panels, diagnosis codes, clinical questions), and STAT priorities.
- **Accessioning** — work queues, barcode label printing and scanning, batch accessioning, document attachment (requisitions, insurance cards), and built-in consistency checks.
- **Results** — manual entry plus instrument import through supported parsers, automatic reference-range evaluation with abnormal/critical flagging, delta checks, retest and add-on handling, and reference-lab send-outs.
- **QC** — QC definitions, result entry, and pass/warning/fail visibility before release.
- **Reporting** — one-step review and approval that generates a standard PDF report automatically, delivery by email, fax, print, HL7, or SFTP, a per-requisition delivery history, and amended-report versioning.
- **Configuration** — a self-service test catalog (tests, panels, analytes, reference ranges, sample types), client and provider management, role-based access, and a full audit trail. Lite ships with a ready-to-use starter menu (chemistry and hematology, including CMP and CBC with differential) so labs see a working setup on day one.

Lite is deliberately standardized to keep cost fixed and go-lives fast: one proven workflow, a single approval step, standard report templates (with the lab's logo and disclaimer), and a curated set of supported instrument and HL7 interface patterns. The billing module is exclusive to the full LIMS IQ platform, and the patient and client portals are available as separate subscriptions. Labs that outgrow Lite move to LIMS IQ on the same platform — no vendor switch and no re-training from scratch.

## Mobile app

LIMS IQ includes a companion mobile web app for specimen collection in the field — it installs to the home screen of a phone or tablet and uses the device camera for barcode scanning. It connects to the same LIS, so everything captured in the field lands directly in the lab's workflow.

- **Phlebotomist queue** — each collector sees their daily schedule filtered by client, site, and date, organized into STAT, fasting, morning, afternoon, evening, and completed tabs. Every stop shows the patient, address with one-tap map navigation, tap-to-call phone, ordered panels, and required container icons.
- **Collection workflow** — scan the patient's confirmation barcode, verify demographics, capture the patient's signature and photos of insurance cards or IDs, answer visit questions, scan specimen barcodes with duplicate checks, and print labels and requisition forms at the draw site. If a draw can't happen, collectors record a reason and reschedule or return the stop to the dispatcher.
- **Point-of-care results** — enter POCT results on the spot, with photo capture for documentation.
- **Quick results** — scan any sample barcode and enter results immediately.
- **Patient e-signature** — patients can review and sign their requisition and consent from a secure link, on any device.

## Patient portal

The new LIMS IQ patient portal is a mobile-first web portal that gives patients direct, secure access to their lab results — and gives labs control over how those results are released and presented.

- **Passwordless sign-in** — patients sign in with a one-time email code or their Google account; an account is created automatically the first time they verify. No passwords to remember or reset.
- **All results in one place** — a newest-first feed of lab orders, aggregated across every connected lab the patient uses, with order details including the performing lab and ordering physician.
- **Clear, readable results** — color-coded values, plus the official lab PDF report viewable and downloadable in the portal.
- **Result trends** — per-test trend charts over time, so patients can follow a value across visits — even when the testing was performed by different labs.
- **Family accounts** — patients can add dependents and relatives under one login and switch between family members' results.
- **Email alerts** — patients are notified by email when new results are available (labs choose whether and how these notifications go out).
- **Lab-side controls** — labs manage how quickly results release to patients, brand the notification emails, and tune how result values are presented.
- **Direct LIS connection** — results flow into the portal automatically from the lab's LIS over standard HL7; patients never have to upload anything.
