LIMS IQ product overview: editions, modules, and pricing

LIMS IQ is a cloud-native laboratory information system (LIS) for clinical and specialty laboratories that combines core LIS workflows with the specimen tracking, workflow control, and configurability usually associated with LIMS platforms. It runs the lab from order intake to final report — accessioning, instrument and EMR interfaces, autoverification, QC, billing, analytics, and patient and client portals — on one platform, with unlimited users on every subscription. LIMS IQ is the rebrand of LIMSABC.

Three ways to buy LIMS IQ

LIMS IQ is not priced per user. Pricing follows monthly requisition volume and the optional modules a lab switches on, and every subscription includes unlimited seat licenses. The three entry points are:

LIMS IQ Lite is a standardized configuration of the platform: one complete, proven workflow from order intake through report delivery, with a short, checklist-driven onboarding. Reasonable monthly volume limits apply, and billing is not available on Lite.

LIMS IQ (the full platform) is a tailored configuration on a dedicated cloud footprint. The effective cost per requisition falls as throughput rises, and labs that grow into a new tier get the lower rate automatically, without renegotiating the contract. Optional modules, custom interfaces, multi-site profiles, and specialty workflows are scoped to the lab. Implementation is scoped separately and phased through discovery, configuration, interface build, validation, training, and go-live.

Patient Portal is a separate subscription and does not require LIMS IQ as the primary LIS. The Direct-to-Consumer add-on extends it with a lab-branded storefront, payments, physician oversight, and kit tracking, from $350/month plus a capped 4.0% take rate on order value.

Optional add-ons on the full platform are priced only when used: the integrated billing module (transaction-based, with a per-claim rate that falls at higher volumes), real-time insurance eligibility verification (a nominal per-verification fee), the client and physician portal, and additional HL7 interfaces or multi-site profiles. Capability map: which module does what

LIMS IQ is modular, so a lab activates only what its workflow needs. Each capability below links to the page that documents it.

How to evaluate LIMS IQ

Most evaluations start with a working demo configured to a representative workflow — accessioning, instrument upload, autoverification, result release, and whichever portal or billing flow matters to the lab. To prepare:

Direct to Consumer is a Patient Portal add-on that adds a lab-branded storefront, payments, physician oversight, and kit tracking. It starts at $350 per month plus a 4.0% take rate on order value, in addition to the Patient Portal subscription. The take rate is capped; the cap depends on storefront volume and program scope.
